The Big Bad Blues Band, from York UK, play authentic, stripped back, straight acoustic blues.
Inspired by travels through the southern states of the US, the Big Bad Blues Band use harmonica, resonator, slide and acoustic guitars, acompanied by acoustic bass and percussion, to recreate the authentic sound of music from the juke joints of Mississippi.
The Big Bad Blues Band’s informal and relaxed style of mellow, unplugged front porch blues is well recieved wherever they play and delivers something a little different.
The Big Bad Blues Band first hit the road in 2019, and in January 2020 they released The The South Bank Social Sessions recorded at Young Thugs Studios in York featuring their popular version of the blues classic Bottle Up and Go, which has featured on several influential playlists and had plenty of radio play.
The Covid-19 pandemic forced a short break, but with the easing of restrictions in the summer of 2021, the band have been back on the road again, playing small intimate pop-up shows entertaining audiences outside cafes and bars, alongside appearances at festivals and venues.
