Back by popular demand. This time for a 2 night live recording residency at the Pax!
Speed For Lovers December ’22 gig has to go down as a legendary night. Tickets flew out so quickly and the waiting list was 10 miles long. We spoke with the band and decided that this time, we’d host 2 nights on the trot, Friday 3rd March and Saturday 4th March to give everyone a chance to come to either or even both nights for a dance.
Once described as “a dark pulsing new wave with elements of disco punk”, Speed For Lovers are here to make you dance. The band consists of Moony on bass and vocals, Liam on drums and Kitty on vocals and a synthesiser known as a Korg Kaossilator. Formed in Sheffield in 2010, the band have gone on to release “Hot Yoga Emoji” in 2018, an album full of bangers for old ravers and new. They’ve played on stages across the city including opening the main stage at Tramlines in 2019, as well as performing at Canal-Lines 2021 (an arguably better stage – we have to say that) and The Fringe at Devonshire Green in 2022. They really are a band not missed live, so drag out your best party frock or disco shoes for a night to remember!
