Snakerattlers return to Dorothy Pax in Sheffield, to serve up another hard slice of unapologetic audible hellfire.
A deathrock/rank rockabilly band from York, the music created by Snakerattlers is ruthless, incendiary and extremely kinetic. It is delivered via a brutal and intense sonic assault; a highly volatile and interactive live show combines with blasting, primal drums that sound like heavy cannon fire, and cranked-up, white knuckle guitar abuse. Over the top of this immense wall of cacophony comes surprisingly tuneful vocals, which strike a chord with anyone who hears their lyrics. The band prides itself on their personal realism and relatability – it denounces and detests all prima-donna pretences associated with the world of live bands.

In support, we are extremely lucky to have Sheffield’s premier surf instrumental band; Surf Muscle! They do “salacious, subaqueous surf shenanigans” and describe themselves as “slimiest submarine supermutants”. We think it’s just tip top surf instrumental music! Massive flavours of Dick Dale and hints of many bands from the Pebbles compilations. Good stuff!
£10 advance tickets
More on the door!
We can’t stress enough how important it is to buy tickets in advance – not only does it mean you get into gigs for cheaper, it also gives the venue, and all involved with it’s running, peace of mind that the gig will break even. In these post-covid times, buying tickets has never been more important. A lot of promoters/venues end up giving up due to poor advance ticket sales, and then where would we be? Without live music, culture is pretty much dead. So do yourself and the venue a favour, by getting advance tickets if you’re coming.
