Mr Magpie:
Mr Magpie is many things: a talking bird, a time-travelling mystic, and the commander-in-chief of a new Sheffield band, whose other members include local musicians Matt Alexander (Matt Alexander and The Belljar Band) and Luke Foster (Curlicues).
Under strict orders, the terrorised hired hands are preparing a set of avian-penned home recordings, influenced by landscape and nature, as well as by bands like the Soft Boys, XTC and The Kinks. Their performance at the Dorothy Pax is the first stop on their DIY bicycle tour of Northern England in support of Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
