For the month of January, Come Hang With Us, will be host to Nick McCann who specialises in stained glass renovation.

‘I came to Sheffield to so my degree in 1985 and I’ve been living here ever since. I love Sheffield and the surrounding landscape, I find it a constant source of inspiration. I’ve worked in various mediums over the years but more recently I’ve been exploring stained glass and its possibilities. Restoration of stained glass leads me to understand other people’s methods and designs.

‘The Light Of The World’ painted by Holman Hunt depicting Jesus holding a lantern is an inspiration for my work. I suppose the spirituality of that image invokes the mysterious qualities of the light through coloured glass down through the centuries.’

Come Hang With Us is a changing monthly free exhibition space supporting artists working with all creative mediums. Curator Liz von Graevenitz started this project at The Dorothy Pax in 2017 and it has been a great success bringing music, visual art and spoken word to a unique space for an unpredictable audience who may not usually go to galleries in Sheffield.
