TREEBEARD! NIGEL PARSONS! OTIS FROM READING!
ME AND MR JONES!
A hugely popular attraction on the pub, festival & beer festival circuit for many years now, with regular appearances at venues and festivals all over the UK. The band play lively Celtic folk rock; traditional, original & contemporary songs & tunes on a variety of acoustic instruments, always guaranteed to get an audience up & dancing.
Me and Mr Jones
Are (somewhat confusingly) a four-piece trio from Derbyshire, comprising five members and a standard lamp. They play slight dark-edged acoustic pop, with a smattering of folk and comedy, which they like to call “Quirkpop”.
Sheffield-based singer-songwriter Nigel performs his own songs, songs by songwriter friends and imaginative covers of his favourite songwriters (Squeeze, Suzanne Vega, David Bowie, Boo Hewerdine, Henry Priestman, Elvis Costello, …). His song ‘The Long Goodbye’ was a semi-finalist in the 2015 UK Songwriting Contest.
Otis From Reading
The low-fi, ambient musical project from writer and comedian Stan Skinny. A poetical sandwich of Bukowski and Ivor Cutler and soft lilting vocals of Motorhead. Scabrous winter fuel for abstract hearts.
